Ozarks Genealogical Society

I will be traveling to Greene County, Missouri, the 24th of September and give a lecture at the Ozarks Genealogical Society. The topic will be Little Known Bald Knobber Influences Throughout the Ozarks. As a boy growing up in Ozark County, I was fascinated with the notorious Bald Knobbers. Years later, it would lead to research and finally to the publication of my book, Bald Knobbers: Chronicles of Vigilante Justice. After the lecture I will sign books.

While there, I will show a glimpse or two of projects I'm endeavoring to finish soon. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. at The Library Center

The address is 4653 S. Campbell, Springfield, Missouri.

I also plan on having a new product available by that date. I have been working on recording the audio of the first 100 stories of the Silas Claiborne "S.C." Turnbo Collection. This first installments contains over 7 hours of stories in MP3 format. These stories contain harrowing times throughout the Civil War in the Ozarks. I figured that I might as well use my Southern Drawl & Ozark Diction and put it to good use. Shoot, I was raise in the the same area & county where Turnbo was from. Therefore, I've endeavored to narrate Turnbo's stories in true Ozark character.

I have traveled to Little Rock to the Arkansas History Commission to personally check & verify the script of these stories. I've made visits & phone calls in order to get the correct pronunciation of names & places. I even pronounce the word "Missouri" as “Missouruh.”

I will be talking more about these stories in the future.

  The price will be $15.00.

  Enjoy youOzarks' History.
